Hi there! What a long time ago, can you believe it?! Sorry I haven’t been around for a while, but the truth is, I haven’t had the time! I’ve been super busy being a bosslady and working on my very own empire :) For the past few months I have been building up a new company called Social Nomads, of which the website launched in September.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen some beautiful pictures of my trip to the UK. I couldn’t help but notice: every time I told someone I was going to the UK, their reaction was: Oh, I love London! Every time I had to explain them that I actually wasn’t going to London, but to the north of England. I was going to visit 4 cities: Hull, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. I had never been there either and I was so curious to see what I would find. Check out my photo diary to get the experience!
As you have seen in my previous blogpost: I went to the Seychelles for an AMAZING Hunkemöller campaign! Obviously I wanted to look as good as possible so I followed a workout plan: 2-3 times a week intense HIIT workout. In the video below I show several workout moves and you can slowly see my body turn more and more fit!
Important: if you consider starting with HIIT workout, it is not always the best option to go with if you want to get fit – as I explain in this blog. This really depends on your personal goals! Watch till the end. There is some important advice that I’m sharing.

As a girl from the south of the Netherlands I take carnival very seriously! However, after celebrating it in the Netherlands for many years I got curious, how does the rest of the world do this? I googled a list: the best carnivals in the world. Besides the obvious options like Rio de Janeiro and Venice, there was one that caught my eye: The carnival in Nice, France. They celebrated with flowers! I had to see that of course :)
Happy Valentine’s day guys! Guess what? I’m sharing a special story today! Me and Alex have been together for more than 6 years and we get this question all the time: how did we meet? Little spoiler alert: we met while I was still in high school, can you believe it?! It’s a fun story that I enjoy telling everytime, I hope you enjoy hearing it!
This weekend it was my mom’s birthday! I don’t know about you guys, but I personally find it quite difficult to buy a present for my mom. Do you know why? Whenever you ask her what she would like to have, all she says is: “I want nothing, just sweet children”. I mean… you already have those mom, what else do you want?!;p Usually me and my sister buy her a nice perfume or something from Rituals, but this year we wanted to do something different.
2017 was an intense year, as soon as I started working for Sanoma it was a rollercoaster! During the day I was constantly at the office, learning, growing, working for the company. During the evenings (and nights) I was working for myself, following my dreams. As you can imagine, I didn’t have much of a social life going on, besides the events I was attending as a blogger at least. I definitely don’t regret anything, because I learned so much! However, after getting close to a second burnout not that long ago, I think it’s important to also set some personal resolutions for myself in 2018. Keep reading!
Looking back at 2017 I realized that I’ve grown a lot in the past year. I’ve had more life experiences and professional experiences that make me calculate my choices a bit extra instead of diving in head first. These are the 5 goals I want to focus on in 2018!
