Are you the type of person that already starts singing christmas songs and decorates the christmas tree in November. Good, you’re in the right place. After last year’s Christmas Gift Guide it’s time for an update! Here are 10 things that every girl wants. Keep reading!
Who doesn’t recognize these typical Christmas scenes: stressing all day trying to make the perfect Christmas dinner, looking for the best presents, trying to untangle the lights for the Christmas tree, struggling to make plans with both sides of your family to make sure you see everyone during the holidays and gaining 5kg from all the food. I think we can all agree that Christmas isn’t as perfect as we like to make it look like on social media, can we? Nevertheless, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays – and not because of the presents under the Christmas tree. Maybe all these little holiday dramas are exactly what make it such a charming holiday. Let’s see how I spent mine!
Yess! Last week it was time to see all of the sweet Hunkemöller Ambassadors again. Cozy Pajamas and hot cocao… could a girl ask for more? We got all picked up by busses, which drove us over to the Hotel Central Park by Ron Blaauw, which was completely decorated into a magic Winter Wonderland.
Isn’t it the hardest thing finding cool gifts for the people you love? You want to make them happy but you are worried that they might not like what you’re getting them. Does this sound familiar? To me it certainly does… This month I’ve been doing quite some research on nice gifts for my family & friends so I feel like I’m an expert now lol. Check out the Gift Guide I made, you can thank me later :)
It’s DECEMBER! The only month that I don’t mind that it’s freezing winter. IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS! For as long as I can remember Christmas has been my favorite holiday because it brings all the family together and we create beautiful memories which I cherish deeply. Last year my family has grown quite a lot and therefore we decided to play ‘Secret Santa’: everyone gets one person for whom he/she has to buy presents, instead of everyone buying presents for everyone. After all: it’s not about buying an infinite amount of presents, it’s about sharing sweet gestures.
Oh yes… tomorrow it’s finally time for the ‘jolliest’ month of the year… Christmas is getting close! My family and friends already know that I start playing Christmas music as soon as possible, and spend my days singing and dancing to it while decorating the house and cooking christmasy food. Ironically, I don’t have ugly Christmas sweaters yet. And it’s time that’s going to change! I’ve been doing some digging, and these are the Ugly Christmas Sweaters I’m going to hunt down this month:
Finally, the Christmas days are starting tomorrow! I’m sure all of us had some small dramas about what to wear, and I am very curious which outfit you went for in the end! Last week you were already able to see a sneak peek of my Christmas Eve outfit and now I am sharing all the details, I hope you like it :)
What I find tricky about Christmas outfit’s is mainly the color combination because there are so many possibilities. Christmas Tree Red & Green… Snowy White, Blue & Silver… Cozy Fireplace Red & Gold… I tend to love all of the combinations and start mixing them up, which doesn’t always result in the best outfits. This Christmas I’m going for a classic safe Black & Gold: a classy look with a touch of glam for the special occasion but still perfectly suitable for a cozy family gathering.
So… what am I actually wearing? You might recognize the black ‘pants’ which is in fact my beloved jumpsuit from Loretta Piovano. I changed its look by wearing this beautiful shirt from Zara over it. I love the material; it’s very thin and shiny, which gives an amazing light effect while moving. By combining this straight-on look with my black heeled booties I was aiming for a Balmain-inspired look, powerful yet feminine, do you think I pulled it off? Last but not least… accessories! I’m wearing two bracelets by Quoins which are gold with black leather details and a beautiful basic yet strong golden necklace which emphasizes the neckline of my shirt and makes the golden details pop. BOOM, Christmas I’m ready for you!
I will be out for the coming three days to be with my family and friends, so for now I am wishing you the happiest of holidays! You won’t have to miss me for long though, I will see you guys again soon with ANOTHER Giveaway for NYE! Yes, you guessed it right, I just really love the holidays!
Lots of love and happiness,
Hey there guys!
Christmas time is coming around again. The time of family, presents, happiness, love and sharing. I am one of the lucky girls who has a great family, amazing friends, and a lovely boyfriend, honestly I have nothing to complain about and I definitely realize that! However, I also do realize that there are many people and animals that are not as fortunate as I am… and as a true believer of Karma I want to share a bit of my own love and fortune with others in order to spread a little sparkle around the world. There are so many ways you can make a change, big or small! In this blogpost I am sharing some of my own ideas to make the world a bit brighter, take a look at it and maybe you will like some of them :)
1. Send your Christmas Cards with www.dierengroet.nl
(For the Dutchies) It’s about time to send those Christmas cards to your loved ones to wish them happy holidays! Personalize your very own Christmas card on www.dierengroet.nl and send them from your comfy couch: If you order them before 4PM the cards will be delivered the day after and the prizes start from €1,39. The money you spend on the cards is a 100% Gift to the Dierenbescherming (Animal Rights organization) so you will also help some cuties get through the cold winter nights! Win-win am I right?
2. Fashion for Charity
Okay guys… this is literally BRILLIANT! On the website www.fashionproject.com you can either donate your old clothes, OR shop vintage designs from other donators. The Fashion Project works together with several charities where the shop money will go to… everyone happy! Forbes Magazine did an interesting interview with the founders and their concept, worth a read as well!
3. Adopt a Cat (on Distance) from Rome
Everyone knows that person who loves animals but isn’t able to take care of one at the moment… myself included! Why don’t you adopt a cat on distance in their name as a Christmas present? Some years ago I was in Rome and visited Torre Argentina: the Roman Cat Sanctuary, they take great care of the cats and you can go there for hours to cuddle with as many cats as you like… such an amazing experience! Also a good reason to make a city trip to Rome to visit your cat… ;)
4. Give someone the World
Last year this was in fact my Saint Jordi present to my boyfriend (a Spanish tradition where the lady has to buy a book for her man, and gets a rose in return). Since he has more than enough books I decided to take a creative turn and buy him… an acre of the rainforest! That’s where all the paper comes from anyway right? The money is used to protect an actual specific spot in the rainforest and you receive an official “certificate of appreciation”, isn’t that lovely?!
5. Keep it Local
Great, you are helping the world around you, but you still see enough poverty around you… helping your locals is great to bring a smile on someone’s face! When I was on vacation in Greece I constantly carried around a little bag with dog treats to feed the hungry street dogs. If you are more the humanitarian type, get spontaneous one day and invite a homeless person for a lunch in the McDonalds (Note: not the scary type though, choose smart haha). Here in Barcelona there are many homeless people so I might actually try that one day… should definitely be interesting! It’s just something small, and I’m not sure if it actually helps at all, but I like to believe that it makes someone’s day and they will pass on the good karma as well.
So get out there you guys, spread your good karma and make someone smile for the holidays!
