Holaaa everyone! Losing weight properly is really important. Today I wanted to share my history with food, and how I began to feel good in my body. Since I’ve become a model, people have told me to be careful what to eat, and to stay in shape in order to get jobs. Naturally, as a young girl, this is what I thought: I’m too big; my hips are too wide, my ass is too big and my legs are too muscular.
It’s been a while since I wrote something.. That’s because I’m undergoing some radical changes in my life. One of those changes is something which I would never ever expect myself doing. And above all, I really hate going with the hype. Hypes are most of the time blown up, as if it’s some kind of faith that you totally have to follow because bla bla bla. But this is different. So, here it is, the most radical change in my life so far:

Lately I’ve been asked a lot what I eat in a day, so I decided to write a blog about it! I picked a random day as an example to show you guys what I eat, but obviously I don’t eat the same things everyday. Most of the time I eat pretty healthy, but I definitely don’t count my calories. I also think you have to treat yourself sometimes. This is also the main reason why I think I’m able to stick to my healthy eating pattern.
You may think it’s a really big step to get a healthier lifestyle. But actually all it needs is just some small adjustments. As a model I’ve learned many useful ones that I’ll be sharing with you now!
Since the last time we talked about the right workout gear, it’s time for the next step in our journey to better workout results: your eating habits. In order to get the body you want, you will have to work on the outside as well as on the inside, for which the right nutrition is vital. I talked to model coach Paultje Column for some tips.
Since I became familiar with the concept of Sunday Brunches I’ve been hooked. I mean. Weekend, food, good vibes. What’s not to love? Even though my (very small) hometown Heerlen doesn’t have brunch parties, me and Alex still went out for a lovely date. Nothing too fancy, but we had a great time! This is what I wore to a casual brunch date:)
Who doesn’t recognize these typical Christmas scenes: stressing all day trying to make the perfect Christmas dinner, looking for the best presents, trying to untangle the lights for the Christmas tree, struggling to make plans with both sides of your family to make sure you see everyone during the holidays and gaining 5kg from all the food. I think we can all agree that Christmas isn’t as perfect as we like to make it look like on social media, can we? Nevertheless, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays – and not because of the presents under the Christmas tree. Maybe all these little holiday dramas are exactly what make it such a charming holiday. Let’s see how I spent mine!
The other day I was walking around my beloved city Barcelona with Alex, looking for a nice place to have dinner. I felt like something healthy because I had nacho for lunch #ups, and I was determined to find one of those super cool veggie places that Barcelona has. We didn’t even walk down our street when we suddenly noticed this super stylish restaurant named Tia Santa. I saw vegetables growing from the walls, beautiful lamps and a very interesting looking menu for a reasonable price. YASSS. Goal accomplished.
Once inside, a very friendly waiter seated us and brought us the menus. He explained us that all of the veggies are grown in their own garden to make sure there are no chemicals in the products, and that they are specialized in anti-allergies and vegetarian food. Alex went for a Ceasar salad while I went for Asian noodles, and the food was there within 10 minutes… HOW?! The food was absolutely delicious and me and Alex returned 2 more times later that week because there were so many things I wanted to try from their fascinating menu.
I asked the waiter about this place, and he told me that Tia Santa opened up only 4 months ago and that it has been very successful. If they keep growing like this they want to open another location very soon! I don’t know about you guys, but I can see a new hotspot coming up.

P.s. Tia Santa opena at 7.30 in the morning for everyone that wants a tasty breakfast! I went for a chocolate muffin because I wasn’t very hungry, but it was deliciousssss.

It has been a long time since I ate meat. Actually, I was always a big lover of meat, but I decided become vegetarian 2 years ago: for my own health, and to make a statement against animal abuse. However, I wouldn’t want to call myself a strict vegetarian: it is ridiculous to push yourself from one extreme to the other in 1 week I think. So for a couple of months I still ate chicken every now and then. Now I still eat fish 2-3 times a week, but no meat. Slowly getting used to being a full vegetarian and maybe even vegan sometimes. Anyways, I think it’s safe to say that meat is currently out of my system. Which brings us to my story.
The other day I was shooting a ‘Goodmorning’ series in a hotel, and I asked the kitchen to prepare us a pretty breakfast which would look good in the pictures. Since I usually always eat yogurt with fruits for breakfast, I totally forgot that perhaps they would give me something else. So yeah, you can already imagine: they proudly presented me an English breakfast at the door… bacon and sausages included. This brought me to a big dilema… If I eat this, I go against my own principles because I don’t want to hurt animals. But then again, if I don’t eat this, it would feel like the poor thing would have died for nothing. So I decided to make sure it wouldn’t, and make it an actual experiment: what would happen if I would eat meat again after such a long time?
So as you figured, I took a couple of bites from the bacon and the sausages. The first thing I realized was quite surprising for me: in all the years that I ate meat I was always CRAZY about bacon, but now I was eating it and I actually wasn’t that impressed with the taste anymore. Not too long after that, I suddenly started getting a stomach ache, one quite hard to explain. You know how your stomach kinda blows up when you ate something bad? I was getting nauseous and bloated. It was as if my stomach was having a hard time processing the food I just ate, as if the injected hormones and antibiotics were attacking my body. Do you know what it feels like when you stop eating something unhealthy for a while (like bread, sugar, chips, etc.) and then suddenly you try it again? This was exactly how that felt like. This experiment made me realize how toxic meat actually is for us: if you eat it on a regular base your body gets used to it, but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy for your body to deal with such toxins each day!
This is definitely something of the last century because people managed to produce meat faster and in bigger quantities by using antibiotics and hormones. So yes, proteins are important for us – and if educated well, you can find those in many other products which are not meat. However, with the current mass production of meat companies use so much terrible chemicals, that meat is doing more harm than good nowadays. I am not saying everyone should suddenly become vegetarian, but let’s start with eating a bit less meat and being more aware of what you put inside your body.
