Motivation Monday: The Reason why Failure is a Good Thing

May 2, 2016

Some weeks ago I was reading this blogpost from Simply by Simone, and it was exactly what I needed to hear at that point:

The reason why Failure is a Good Thing

It is okay to break down every now and then. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to be able to see your life from a new perspective. I often disappoint myself when I think I could have done better, or when I’m seemingly having a harder time than others. I get anxious from expectations and probably I judge myself more than anyone else does. But guess what? I have never been happier with my path than before: I feel like I have a purpose, I have freedom. Simone couldn’t explain this any better:

“I’m constantly exhausted, I don’t work out enough or eat as healthy as I would like, I feel like I try and try and try but still can’t get ahead. Even after all that, I keep waking up and I keep moving forward. At some point, I will collapse and I look forward to it. Hitting rock bottom is a rebirth. You get to club up to the top again. “ – Simply by Simone

Never compare yourself to others: they didn’t start at the same time you did and they might have other goals. And keep in mind that on social media everything always looks better than that it really is, don’t let it fool you! The only people who never fail are the people that never try, and people who never try will never go far. So be proud of your failures, it means that you are one step closer to finding success. Don’t forget what Thomas Edison answered when they asked him how he could fail 1000 times before he invented the light bulb. He said: “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps”.

Start to learn and appreciate the moments you are feeling down… because it means there is only one other way to go: up.

Lots of Love,

Lynn
