#OOTD: NYE Glam

December 31, 2015

New Year’s Eve… THE night in the year when everyone can shamelessly go full on Glam with their outfit, enjoy it!

This year I decided to go for a sophisticated sexy look with this long black dress designed by Claudia Falcieri Oliver, an upcoming designer from London, isn’t it amazing?! I love how it emphasizes the right parts of my body and makes me look taller, it’s very flattering indeed! Because the dress already gets enough attention on its own, I kept the accessories simple with a small silver bracelet & ring from Lito & Lola and another ring from Amor.

NYE GlamNYE GlamTonight I will be celebrating NYE at the W Hotel here in Barcelona (Yes that’s right, the same hotel were I also had this amazing #Retox brunch!) Their club Eclipse is located at the 26th floor and has breathtaking views over the ocean, I can’t wait! However, an amazing party can only happen with amazing friends: I am so excited that Christel and her boyfriend are joining me and Alex to celebrate together!

Btw, did you guys know that in Spain they don’t celebrate NYE like they do in the Netherlands? I’ve always been used to running outside in the cold to see the fireworks when the clock strikes Twelve, but in Spain there are no fireworks at all! However, they have a very fun tradition of their own: the famous ’12 Uvas’. With every strike of the clock you have to eat one grape, if you are able to chew all of them down before the clock strikes Twelve, you will have a prosperous year ahead of you! I better get started practicing my ‘Grape Eating Skills’ lol, I’ll let you know how it went!

Have a very good night my dears, and see you next year! ;)

Lots of love,

Lynn

#OOTD: Burgundy Red & Kimono’s

December 2, 2015

Hey there y’all!

Every year when Christmas is getting closer I seem to develop certain habits such as: playing Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on repeat while singing and dancing around my room, staring at every single christmas decoration I can find in shops and in the streets because it is just THAT pretty, loads and LOADS of christmas shopping AND last but not least, I seem to get obsessed with the colors Burgundy Red & Gold!

Burgundy Kimono2

This year is not an exception, as you can see! This modernized Kimono made by the brand Kimonea has a beautiful deep shade of burgundy which happens to fit perfectly with my lipstick, lucky me! The material is 100% wool so it’s super soft and warm, perfect for beating the icy winter breeze :) Since oversized layering is in Trend right now I decided to go for a larger size, which the owners of Kimonea made for me by hand! Aren’t they the sweetest?! Kimonea is all about designing different versions of the Japanese Kimono and has an amazing way of modernizing them along with the trends of the moment, very creative and original! If you are someone that is into the current Poncho Trend, this is definitely something for you :)

Furthermore, I kept the outfit simple and cute (if anyone has been following my #OOTD’s, you must have realized by now that’s my signature style haha!) with an oversized soft peach sweater from H&M and a faux-suede skirt from Double Agent which make the Burgundy color pop out. Since I was missing a ‘Gold Touch’ in my outfit, I took the golden ring which I got from my mother when I turned 21 as a small color accent, it never fails!

#OOTD: The Grey Trend for this Winter

November 25, 2015

Hi there!

Do you already know the new Trend for this Winter? Besides the Layered Trend there is a color we won’t be able to avoid the upcoming months: Grey! I will have to be honest to you guys… I have never been a huge fan of grey, it makes me look so pale. However, after I realized I won’t be able to avoid this color anymore, I decided to dig in and experiment with different combinations.

As you can see not my full outfit is grey, by combining it with another basic color such as black and not wearing anything grey close to my face, I was able to avoid looking pale. Win for Lynn! However… this grey pants from Cortefiel definitely is the showstopper of my outfit by combining not one, not two, but THREE trends! Introducing: the grey, sporty 70’s pants!

As you might be able to see the fabric of this flared trousers is a very soft material which is mostly used for jogging pants… a.k.a. it feels like you are walking around in your PJ’s all day long, can it get more awesome?! In fact yes, yes it can. The cut of the trousers is very flattering for your legs which makes them look super long and thin.

I love how this outfit is in fact super simple, but still is a great fashion statement to wear while walking down the street on a casual day. My currently favorite fedora hat is from Mango and the thin turtleneck sweater is from Primark. To accessorize I am wearing a simple silver ring from Amor and nothing else,, I prefer minimalistic jewelry

I am very curious what you guys think about my Tripple Trend Experiment, especially since neither of them are necessarily my favorite! However, after experimenting and putting this outfit together I might fall in love with these trends after all. I guess the key is to make the trends fit with your personal style, and for me this outfit proves that it’s definitely possible!

Lots of Love,

Lynn

#OOTD: The layered trend for those cold days

November 4, 2015

Brrrrr, it’s so cold outside! Thank god for this autumns layered trend which allows us to stay warm during the autumn & winter months. What is the layered trend you ask? It’s a mix of materials, it’s (often) oversized, it’s comfy, it’s warm, it’s creative! The cool part about this trend is the fact that even if you think that it might be too much, it could totally still work if you do it right. Here are a couple of examples from the previous fashion week streetstyles:

These ladies sure know how to look beautiful with all those layers! As you can see: any material, color, print, length, shape or accessory is possible! Popular for this look are tulle skirts, wide legged trousers or A-line dresses in combination with oversized sweaters. This trend is ideal for experimenting and finding out which materials or prints look good on you, and you will stay warm and comfy in the meanwhile!

The other day I went shopping in Mango and put together this simple yet stylish outfit, as you can see the wide legged trousers with the oversized sweater are an important part of my look! Under the sweater I am wearing a white blouse in order to create that layered effect which makes the look more interesting. To give the outfit a personal touch I am wearing my currently favorite black fedora hat with girly braids.

Regarding the print, I went for large chalkstripes in the trousers, something I had never tried before until now! I thought it was a cliché, but it looks so classy and it makes your legs look longer, definitely a print that’s going to stay in my closet! Furthermore I adore the cute laced detail on the back of my supersoft sweater! The heels give the outfit a more feminine feeling. Since you can see no shapes of the body at all, this is a great way to keep your look ladylike.
