If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen some beautiful pictures of my trip to the UK. I couldn’t help but notice: every time I told someone I was going to the UK, their reaction was: Oh, I love London! Every time I had to explain them that I actually wasn’t going to London, but to the north of England. I was going to visit 4 cities: Hull, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. As a girl from the south of the Netherlands I take carnival very seriously! However, after celebrating it in the Netherlands for many years I got curious, how does the rest of the world do this? I googled a list: the best carnivals in the world. Besides the obvious options like Rio de Janeiro and Venice, there was one that caught my eye: The carnival in Nice, France. They celebrated with flowers! I had to see that of course :)
I was seventeen when I moved abroad for the first time, to London for a short period, all by myself. Since then I’ve lived in and traveled to several other countries, sometimes where I knew people, sometimes not. I would like to tell you guys my story, share why I highly recommend traveling / moving abroad on your own and in which ways it changed me as a person.

It’s always exciting to move to a new city: there is so much still to explore! Till now I haven’t had that much time to explore yet because I’m working a lot and I’m still in my ‘moving process’.
