Some of you might have already heard about Fashionchick: it’s a really great platform in The Netherlands which is all about the latest trends, fashion, beauty and more! They have a squad of awesome bloggers and guess what? I’m the newest addition! I’ve been a fan of Fashionchick for a long time already, so this feels like such an honor for me. Hard work really pays off, doesn’t it? :)
Last week the Marktplaats Goudmijn Collectie Event happened, and it was so much fun! 51 bloggers were rocking the runway with their vintage looks which are currently up for sale (till the 7th of December) right here.
My outfit got quite some compliments throughout the evening, which almost makes me regret putting it up for sale haha. But in case you are looking for a great holiday outfit you should definitely check it out!
Save the date: the 29th of November I will be participating in a vintage fashion show in collaboration with Marktplaats in Amsterdam. More than 40 fashion -and lifestylebloggers will be showing their ‘creative chic’ outfit, which will be up for sale afterwards! In case you would like to check out all of our styles – and do some vintage shopping while you’re at it – make sure to come over.
Why is this fun? Because women should spend more time recycling their closet: it doesn’t only keep it more organized, with the money you earn from small sales you can buy new (and better) outfits. Go sustainable fashion!
I am super excited that I was invited to join this event, and I can take 3 of you guys! Marktplaats lets me give away 3 VIP Tickets + a Meet and Greet, so make sure to leave a comment on my blog or my Instagram to get a chance of winning! Let me know why you want to come and the 22nd of November I will announce the winners :)
Location: Vondelkerk Amsterdam, Vondelstraat 120A
Time: 29th of November 17.30
See you there!
Lots of Love,
Not that long ago I was in Rotterdam for Salonè della Moda, and I loved one of my outfits so much that I shot a short fashion video with Lucas Bakx for it! I know I know… not necessarily an outfit you could wear on a daily basis, but doesn’t that make it much more fun and special to wear?!
What I like about fashion is that you can get creative and make it fun with different combinations of styles, colors, materials and more! I guess my slogan came into existence for a reason:
“A Creative Mind Equals an Endless Wardrobe”
Shop the look:
Denim Jacket: Vintage
Bralette: Shop Tobi
Skirt: Matilde Cano
Sneakers: Pull & Bear
Bye Bye Holidays, Hello Exams! Since most of my friends are spending their days in the books at the moment, I figured it would be fun to do an #OOTD inspired by the University Look. How to walk to classes while looking effortlessly chic? I got the answer! And there is more: for this #OOTD I convinced Alex to join me for menswear inspiration and I think he did an amazing job. Let’s check it out!
When you are too busy studying, you most definitely not want to get too complicated with your outfit. Therefore, the first (and very obvious) ground rule for effortlessly chic is: keep it simple! As you can see I went for a basic Zara shirt in combination with a checkered A-line skirt: warm and comfy, but still cute.
The second thing which is important for a chic school outfit are the colors. Black and white is always a safe option, but for today’s outfit I felt inspired by warmer colors: brown and burgundy red. These colors are trending as we speak and I happen to love them, happy me! Is it just me or do they also give a little 70’s touch to my outfit? Anyways, the neutrals are always good for the chic look, so all you have to do is ask yourself: does the color scream? If the answer is yes, don’t wear it as one of your basics. As a fun touch for an accessory? Go for it!
And last but not least: you NEED a bag to drag all your books around, so you might as well go for a cool one! This oldskool leather bag from Ruitertassen really gives my outfit that final touch and is super practical as well. The best part is the fact that these oldskool bags are made with great quality and they will only start looking better with the years, unlike most other bags I ever took to class. Besides, I love the vintage style of the bag because… vintage! Do I need to say more?
How amazing is it that at the moment it’s trending again for men to suit up and look classy? I’m a fan! Alex is wearing a shirt under his jumper with his tie tucked in (yes, I was inspired by Nate from Gossip Girl) combined with his beige skinny fit jeans. This fit makes the look a bit more casual, otherwise it would go into the direction of ‘business man’ instead of ‘college student’ and that’s not the look we were going for!
For Alex I also decided to go for neutrals with a beige jeans and a grey/blue-ish sweater. However, the combination of different structures and layers makes the look more interesting, just as the small burgundy red detail on his socks! Finally, Alex’ outfit also got its final touch with the oldskool leather bag from Ruitertassen, who do you think wore it better? ;)
Hey there guys!
As you might have seen on my Instagram, I was quite busy this weekend! The events I went to were amazing so I just HAD to write about them. Our first stop was the Baúl Weekend in Eixample, a beautiful neighborhood in Barcelona. It was a weekend event where people can donate their vintage designer clothes and buy other designs, all of the profit going to #SavetheChildren. Isn’t that amazing?! This was the first edition of Baúl Market; it was set up by a group of friends and turned out to grow enormously, I am definitely hoping there will be many more editions to come!
The space was well organized with many volunteers and even more awesome clothes. I was able to spot some real treasures such as Burberry coats, perfect Louis Vuitton heels (not my size, kill me!), Prada bags, Armani shirts and an adorable Dolce & Gabanna dress from their Spring/Summer Collection which you can see in the picture, happy me! Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay long because we had to run off to our next event: the #Retox brunch in the W Hotel!
Since November the famous W Hotel started with their weekly Sunday Retox Brunches, an oasis of stylish perfection. I mean, this is pretty much Alice in Wonderlands High Tea party.. but then with waiters… a DJ… a pool… views over the beach… cocktails… dancers dressed like rainbows… a stylish interior…and well let’s not forget all the amazing little snacks the chefs prepared for us! Besides the colorful candies that are all over the buffet, most of the food is actually super healthy and #detox worthy. Definitely something I will be doing more often on my free Sunday #foodaddict #guilty
After gaining 5 Kilos at the Brunch we decided to take a walk to the vintage Lost and Found Market in Estación de Francía, one of the bigger train stations in Barcelona. The huge arrival hall was completely filled with lots of little corners where people were selling their vintage collections and other random products. Definitely the real vintage feel: chaotic, but fun! It was hard to find anything in between all the mess but there was definitely some cool stuff, mainly accessories such as sunglasses and bags were fun to go through. In the end I didn’t buy anything because the products were all very…. Old? Well you know what I mean, it was obvious that everything was worn many times already, so the quality was pretty much gone. But it’s okay, I had a good time anyway!
In the evening we got home and I had to get started writing this story, tired but happy! I can’t help myself but smiling about how grateful I am to live in this wonderful city called Barcelona. There is always something going on, always something to look forward to. Thanks to this city my life has become an even bigger adventure… it couldn’t get any better.
Lots of Love,
