Last week I saw my chance: it was finally snowing! Me and Taria-ann decided to go on a small adventure and go to a beautiful nature area in the south of the Netherlands. In the middle of nowhere there is this cute small cottage/restaurant called ‘t Hijgend Hert: a perfect spot for a snowy saturday! It didn’t go as smooth as we planned though…
Don’t you just love the rush? Packing your bags, getting into the car and just go somewhere random? When Alex visited me during the holidays we wanted to take the most out of our time together (gotta hate long distance relationships), so we took off for 3 days. Off to adventure! P.s. Make sure to read till the end: I saved the best for last <3
Yess! Last week it was time to see all of the sweet Hunkemöller Ambassadors again. Cozy Pajamas and hot cocao… could a girl ask for more? We got all picked up by busses, which drove us over to the Hotel Central Park by Ron Blaauw, which was completely decorated into a magic Winter Wonderland.
December is here, and so is the cold! The Flu is around the corner but I most definitely do not have time for being sick! That’s why I have been doing some research on how to deal with your (upcoming) Flu with natural ingredients which you can find in your Supermarket. You can thank me later
1. No more Toxins: Keep your Liver Clean
In order to keep your body clean from toxins, your liver has to work hard! By keeping your liver clean, you will be able to flush out toxins more efficiently and thus prevent you from becoming sick! A good way to keep your liver clean is by eating lots of cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, lettuce and cabbage.
2. Ginger for the Lungs
Ginger warms the body and helps to break down the accumulation of toxins in the organs, particularly in the lungs and airways. By keeping your airways open, ginger can help to prevent the risk of infection. If you’re having a cold, it’s also great to help you breathe better trough your nose!
3. Lemonwater against Nausea (and more)
In this article, I explained that lemon contains Pottasium, which controls high blood pressure and reduces the effects of nausea. Furthermore, lemon has disinfecting properties, helps cleansing toxins and keeps you hydrated. Personal Favorite Tip: make your own tea with a slice of ginger, the half of a lemon, and a full spoon of honey. This is the ultimate Get Better Recipe, and it tastes delicious too!
4. Saltwater for the Throat
Scratchy throat? Add half a teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water and gargle! The salt draws out excess water in your throat’s tissues, reducing the inflammation, and clears mucous and irritants from the back of the throat. The rinse also flushes out bacteria and viruses, which will help in case you’re getting a cold (or if you want to prevent one). Easy but effective, definitely worth a try am I right?
5. Ease your cough with Sage
Sage extracts work as a cough syrup, which helps your body move mucus out of your respiratory tract and helps to calm your cough. As a good alternative to cough syrup from the pharmacy, try a drop of sage extract in tea or hot water (maybe with the ginger/lemon/honey mix?)
As a last note I figured I should also quickly mention other common things I read everywhere about preventing the flu: keep doing (light) exercise, sleep enough, reduce your stress levels, eat healthy, get fresh air, wash your hands regularly & stay hydrated. Sounds good to me, I feel ready for the Winter now!
Do you guys have any personal favorites which help you beat the flu? Share your wisdom with us and perhaps it will save us from becoming sick during the holidays!
Lots of Love,
Hey there y’all!
Every year when Christmas is getting closer I seem to develop certain habits such as: playing Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on repeat while singing and dancing around my room, staring at every single christmas decoration I can find in shops and in the streets because it is just THAT pretty, loads and LOADS of christmas shopping AND last but not least, I seem to get obsessed with the colors Burgundy Red & Gold!
This year is not an exception, as you can see! This modernized Kimono made by the brand Kimonea has a beautiful deep shade of burgundy which happens to fit perfectly with my lipstick, lucky me! The material is 100% wool so it’s super soft and warm, perfect for beating the icy winter breeze :) Since ‘oversized layering‘ is in Trend right now I decided to go for a larger size, which the owners of Kimonea made for me by hand! Aren’t they the sweetest?! Kimonea is all about designing different versions of the Japanese Kimono and has an amazing way of modernizing them along with the trends of the moment, very creative and original! If you are someone that is into the current Poncho Trend, this is definitely something for you :)
Furthermore, I kept the outfit simple and cute (if anyone has been following my #OOTD’s, you must have realized by now that’s my signature style haha!) with an oversized soft peach sweater from H&M and a faux-suede skirt from Double Agent which make the Burgundy color pop out. Since I was missing a ‘Gold Touch’ in my outfit, I took the golden ring which I got from my mother when I turned 21 as a small color accent, it never fails!
Anyway, I would LOVE to hear from you guys if you develop certain habits when Christmas is getting closer. Do you have a favorite color to wear around this time of the year? Don’t forget to leave a comment down below!
Lots of Love,
Do you already know the new Trend for this Winter? Besides the Layered Trend there is a color we won’t be able to avoid the upcoming months: Grey! I will have to be honest to you guys… I have never been a huge fan of grey, it makes me look so pale. However, after I realized I won’t be able to avoid this color anymore, I decided to dig in and experiment with different combinations.
As you can see not my full outfit is grey, by combining it with another basic color such as black and not wearing anything grey close to my face, I was able to avoid looking pale. Win for Lynn! However… this grey pants from Cortefiel definitely is the showstopper of my outfit by combining not one, not two, but THREE trends! Introducing: the grey, sporty 70’s pants!
As you might be able to see the fabric of this flared trousers is a very soft material which is mostly used for jogging pants… a.k.a. it feels like you are walking around in your PJ’s all day long, can it get more awesome?! In fact yes, yes it can. The cut of the trousers is very flattering for your legs which makes them look super long and thin.
I love how this outfit is in fact super simple, but still is a great fashion statement to wear while walking down the street on a casual day. My currently favorite fedora hat is from Mango and the thin turtleneck sweater is from Primark. To accessorize I am wearing a simple silver ring from Amor and nothing else,, I prefer minimalistic jewelry
I am very curious what you guys think about my Tripple Trend Experiment, especially since neither of them are necessarily my favorite! However, after experimenting and putting this outfit together I might fall in love with these trends after all. I guess the key is to make the trends fit with your personal style, and for me this outfit proves that it’s definitely possible!
Lots of Love,
